Ithaca

Experimental aircraft, lost civilizations, mythic quests, the Philippines, true love, utter loss, and the transience of life - the many subjects of Ithaca, the first independently released Bowman album. Scattergun in its genre and chaotically retro in its fashion, Ithaca is an eclectic mix of songs both personal and abstract. Bowman once again brings his familiar voice and ever-changing production style along with several friends from the Homestuck music project and elsewhere. Ithaca is calling.

There are twelve songs, of which ten are vocal and two are instrumental. The titles are "Old Buggy Now", "Ascension", "Come With Me", "Tacit Blue", "Rodeo Clown", "Cerulean Skies", "Noun", "Ithaca", "Kalesa in Binondo", "Underneath It All", "Laughing Forest", and "The Roamin' Bowman".

Many guest musicians appear on the album (many of them from the Homestuck music team), including Luke Benjamins, Katie Carrell, Thomas Ferkol, Andrew Huo, Jeremy Iamurri, Tavia Morra, Mark Nabors, Clark Powell, Erik Scheele, Nick Smalley, and Peter Turner. I also share writing credit with Tyler Dever on "Ascension", a song based on one of his early 8-bit sketches for the Homestuck music project. It is truly an all-star effort.
